SECTION I - AVSA Collections

Class 1 - Standard Collection of 3 different AVSA registered varieties of the same type: 3 single-crown or 3 trailers, or 3 species, regardless of type

Class 2 - Miniature or Semiminiature Collection of 3 different registered varieties of the same type: 3 single-crown miniatures, 3 miniature  trailers, 3 single-crown semiminiatures, or 3 semiminiature trailers

SECTION II - Standard specimen plants, green foliage, any type blossom

Class 3 - White, cream, yellow, green, and two-tones of these colors

Class 4 - Red, pink, coral, blush, and two-tones of these colors

Class 5 - Blue, purple, lavender, and two-tones of these colors

Class 6 - Multi-colored

Class 7 - Edged

Class 8 - Fantasy and Chimera

SECTION III - Standard specimen plants, variegated foliage, any type blossom

Class 9 -    White, cream, yellow, green, and two-tones of these colors

Class 25 - Any variety of African violet, any type foliage, any type blossom grown exclusively in natural light

Class 26 - Vintage African violets (25 years or older, pre 1993)

                           DIVISION II – DESIGN

SECTION X - Interpretive Flower Arrangements - Designs using fresh cut African violet blossoms as the highlight of the exhibit.  Fresh cut, dried, treated or colored plant materials and man-made materials are permitted.  Artificial plant materials may not be used.  Accessories, bases and backdrops are optional unless restricted in the Class description.  Exhibits shall have a 3” x 5” card listing African violet varieties and other plant material used, if known.

Class 33 - 'Tidal Treasures' - A scene of what may be brought up the shore by the daily ebb and flow of the tide using African violet blossoms.  Niche size: 20” high, 15” wide, 7 ½” deep.

Class 34 - 'Fishing at the Shore' - What might I be fishing for? Using a clear glass container of your choice create an underwater design completely submerged using African violet blossoms to be viewed at eye level from the front only.  The club will supply the riser.

SECTION XI - Interpretive Plant Arrangements - Designs where one or more blooming African violet plants (removed from the pot) shall be the highlight of the exhibit.  Fresh, cut, dried, treated, or colored plant materials are permitted.  Artificial plant materials may not be used.  Accessories, bases and backdrops are optional unless restricted in the Class description.  Exhibits shall have a 3” x 5” card listing African violet varieties and other plant material, if known.

Class 35 - 'Fun by the Shore' - An activity you might participate in by the shore.  Remember many shores are not ust sun and sand.  Niche size: 30” high, 20” wide, 15” deep.

SECTION XII - Container Gardens - Miniature gardens using one or more African violets and other growing plants.  All plants must be planted in the container.  No cut plant material permitted with the exception of weathered wood or natural materials that are used for effect.  Not to exceed 30” in any direction.  No limit on Exhibits, but reservations are required for all container garden classes.
