Let me welcome you to Hernando County Animal Services. We are located at 19450 Oliver Street, Brooksville, Florida 34601.
There have been many exciting changes going on at the shelter over the last few months. We recently welcomed three new positions to the Hernando County Animal Services team. Our managing Veterinarian Dr. Lisa Centonze, our new certified Veterinary Technician Tara Caldwell and myself Shannon Finch Animal Advocate, Rescue and Volunteer Coordinator. Dr. Lisa Centonze most recently worked at Hillsborough County Animal Services and received her veterinary training at the University of Florida. Dr. Centonze has been an integral part of the positive changes at HCAS. Her strong work ethic, morals, and compassion for the animals makes her the perfect person for this job.
Our newest member Tara Caldwell CVT is a graduate from the Veterinary Technician Program at Hillsborough Community College. She was previously working in private practice and her enthusiasm has been a wonderful addition to the shelter. I, myself was previously employed at Pasco County Animal Services where I started as an Adoption Partner Coordinator/ Animal Care Tech, then was promoted to an Animal Control Officer. Previously I resided in New York and worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician for an exotics/ small animal practice for 15plus years, as head technician and office manager.
